This is a beautiful site that you have John. I have been to Hasankeyf many times and it's true beauty is hard to capture, however I think that your site has made a wonderful attempt at it. Keep it up!
update us pleasE!
Fantastic site, fantastic idea, fantastic photography -- guess what, I like it and wish you great success in highlighting Hasankeyf to the outside world.
these photos are beautiful!
is this a dead blog or is it merely hibernating? it's difficult to find information about the Kurds in Turkey and blogs like this are one in a million...
Hi John. really nice pictures but I sad to find out that you did not ask about the citys Assyrian history. Did you know that kurds only came to make a majority in this area in south east Turkey after they helped the Turks to massacre hundreds of thousands of Assyrians? Read about the history of the Assyrians and you will find out everything. /Gabriel
As well as for the Armenians.
Pictures are beautiful.
I love this photo, don't know anything about the history, but recently met someone who recommended your blog and she just returned from middle east now I think I want to go there and check it out myself. You're photos are great but some make me uncomfortable.not sure why she recommeded it, she's spiritual. but anyway you seem to be good at what you do. Keep up the good work.and thanks for sharing
