Hi John! This is my second visit to your site.I really liked the pictures you've taken and of course your comments.I come from hasankeyf. And I am really pleased seen someone from other country taking interest. Thanks again. Murat
Actually Ataturk and peoples of the Anatolia fought against Europeans together as Seahaddin did. And Kurdish fuedals (who are hand in hand with US barbarians) and Turkish elites (who also worked together with US barbarians) have common responsibilities in long years of discrimination that ordinary peasant Kurdish people had to suffer.
Of particular delight is that the people photographed are totally oblivious of the photographer: the simit sellers toting their trays, the school children in their blue smocks, the men arguing over tea, the boy and his fishing net ... superb lighting and clearly definition. Well done. Please continue.
Having just returned after 2 weeks living with our Kudish friends, we are disgusted and frustrated by the continued lack of information regarding the future of this beautiful place. This, issue should have been resolved long ago. That way, the future of these friendly, outgoing and enterprising people cold be ensured.
John Wreford is a freelance photographer currently living in Damascus Syria.
The images on the Our Man in Damascus blog are a random selection of pictures taken on various commissions around Syria, I will leave the comments upto you.
